Plato Dimakos
Executive Vice President
Meet Plato Dimakos, he brings a wealth of experience, accomplishment, and acumen to Fortis Lux Financial! His natural ability to connect with people and build lasting relationships led him to a career in sales management. As a sales leader, leveraging his talent for crafting, recruiting, cultivating and managing individuals, Plato has honed his skills through the years. Developing and executing effective sales strategies, coaching and mentoring sales teams, and delivering exceptional client service, he supports his teams such that they integrate their abilities, working towards achieving their goals. He realizes the importance of providing customized solutions to meet each client's unique needs. This is what motivated Plato to join the Fortis Lux team, he understood that we are synchronized in our ultimate goal- delivering well thought out and committed holistic financial strategies to clients and providing resources to help them achieve their financial goals. Plato began his Financial Services career in 1986 with New York Life as an agent. In 1990, a discussion was initiated by the senior management of New York Life about him pursuing a career in management. He was, after all, eligible as a consistent Council Qualifier and recruiter of new representatives with a knack for team building. In 2011, Plato was tapped by MassMutual Chicago about an Agency Managing Partner position with their Chicago agency in Rosemont, Illinois and joined them that summer. He built a very strong group of inexperienced and experienced agents and was a leader in their Mid-west zone. In 2017, Plato was approached by OneAmerica and Wela Financial about partnering with them as an AGA. After a few months of doing his due diligence on OneAmerica and Wela Financial, he decided to join in 2017. He was appointed as AVP for OneAmerica of Western Region from 2018 to 2020. At that point he was already seasoned sales leader with decades of experience in the financial services industry, he had a proven track record of driving sales growth, bringing in new talent, while leading high-performing sales teams. Plato’s talent and instinct for building, cultivating, and supporting effective teams was developed early in his life. He graduated from Central Washington University with a B.A. in Sociology and was a two-sport letterman in Basketball and Baseball. In 1985, he was invited to the Montreal Expos Rookie Ball Camp in Florida. Yet, he signed a professional basketball contract with Elysiakos of the Greek League where he played for two years. Plato also served as the Associate Head Coach of the men's basketball team for Triton Junior College in River Grove, Illinois from 2011 to 2019; this career was highlighted with a national championship in 2018. If one were to look closely, his experiences on the basketball court and baseball field informed his abilities to develop, motivate and champion the teams he created over the years. With this he has garnered the ability to see an individual’s potential beyond what is initially presented. Plato resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Jill Warner-Dimakos. He is a very proud father of his two children from a previous marriage, Paige and Jared, along with two step-children, Riley and Brady. CRN202604-4198226
